Monday, December 3, 2007:

 

    Today Mrs. Jansen came into class and explained to us how to make this website ad how to add links and other things too it. She also showed us what needed to be done and how to do it. I.e. netrekker.  After class at home I tried finding info on netrekker but I couldn't find anything useful. So I went to Google. When I found a good site I cited it in source aid citation builder. Then I posted the source in our bibliography. I also posted most of the information from the website on my notes.

 

    On my notes I highlighted what I needed to naked note of. With this highlighted information I took my own notes. Also I Googled an image for the home page. When I Googled for the picture I had to look back at my notes and my partners notes to find out what it should look like. After finding one I saved the image and uploaded it to the homepage.

 

 

Tuesday, December 4, 2007:

 

    Today in class we viewed videos that helped us to understand bacteria better. Also in Class we were told how to do the timeline and that when we need to turn it in. For the last couple of minutes of class we setup the timeline and briefly talked about what we wanted to do. (We will talk more about this tomorrow)

 

    Also when I got home I went ahead and added some stuff to our timeline. However I could no complete it because I need to be able to consult with my partner about how far we want to go with our information and also when we want to have each bit done. Tomorrow during our free period we will discuss this so that we can make a final adjustment to the Timeline.

 

 

Wednesday, December 5, 2007:

 

    Today my partner and I finished the timeline and talked about what we wanted to have done and when we wanted to have each bit done. We made sure that we gave ourselves plenty of time to do each bit of material that is necessary for this project.

 

    Also today in class Mrs. Jansen told us how to do a website evaluation. She explained the importance of evaluating sites that have not already been evaluated. (Evaluated sites are the ones that we get from the data bases) She told us how to see if a website is good or bad to use by showing us examples.

 

 

Thursday, December 6, 2007:

 

    Today in class we were supposed to be doing a lab. However the materials were not in so we worked on our project instead. I printed and filled out a website evaluation guide for my first source.

 

    Outside of class I did research for the website. I posted the information from the web into my notes so that later I could make my own notes from this information.

 

 

Friday, December 7, 2007:

 

    Today in class we did a lab. These results of this lab will allow us to see how antibiotics work. We put 3 different kinds of antibiotics on two different bacteria and we left them out in room temperature for the remainder of the weekend.

 

    When I got home I tried to find more information for our front page. Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything. After searching for about 45 mins our internet shut down and wasn’t able to get back on until later in the weekend.

 

 

Saturday-Sunday, December 8-9, 2007:

 

    This weekend I found a good website that answers a lot of the questions that I have to know for the project. However I could not find any history on actinomycetes. I'm hoping that my partner and/or I will find some History soon.

 

    I cited the website and filled out a web evaluation for it because this site was not found on net trekker. I know that this site is good because it is from a university and the information is the same as the other information that I have found.

 

 

Monday, December 10, 2007:

 

    Today in class we saw the results of the antibiotic sensitivity lab. We took these results and made a class data table. After making the class data table we worked on our lab reports that were due the next day.

 

    Later that night I printed out the notes from the website and highlighted what I needed for the Front Page. I put the information that I highlighted into my own words in my notes section. Tomorrow I will finish these notes by adding them to the front page and later adding the pictures.

 

 

Tuesday, December 11, 2007:

 

    Today in class we look over the lab we will be doing tomorrow. We were told what we needed to do to prep for this lab tonight. After looking at the lab and understanding the assignment we went to work on the website.

 

    When I got onto the website I added information to our front page from my notes. I had taken these notes earlier but I didn’t add the information to the information that we need to know on the front page.  I also added a picture to the front page.

 

 

Wednesday, December 12, 2007:

 

 

    Today in class we did another lab. The lab was a Bacteria confirmation lab. We did this lab by running 2 different tests on 4 different bacteria. The test we ran was the motility test and the MacConkey agar test.

 

    When I got home I made a crossword puzzle for actinomycetes. I also made an answer key. I attached these two documents into the new folder "Puzzles and More Photos". I also created another document that had more photos that give a visual for certain questions. I also attached this in the new folder.

 

 

Thursday, December 13, 2007:

 

    Today in class we finished our lab. We ran the motility test and the MacConkey agar test, and we also recorded the data we got from this. Tonight we will write up the lab report.

 

    During my free period I cited the sources for my pictures and consulted with my partner about the final things we needed to do. We decided to wait to turn in the assignment so that we can check for any mistakes.

 

 

Friday, December 14, 2007:

            At school today we were given instructions as to what part of this assignment was due and when it was due. We were told how to do each thing that we needed to do so that we could get everything done.

 

            This final weekend I made spelling and grammar corrections to my journal. I made sure that we had everything that we needed for the website posted. Also I called my partner to make sure that everything was good enough to turn in.
